Head of Base
Angie joined the Woodside Group as Head teacher of Brickyard Barn in 2018. Prior to joining Woodside Angie had over 20 years of working in specialist education supporting students with ASD, ADHD, PDA, VI and Learning Difficulties. Having started working at Round Oak Special school and then transitioning to work in their support service. Within the support service Angie would work with schools in an advisory capacity liaising with staff to create a support package for students on the SEND register. From there Angie became Associate SenCo at Myton School where she was responsible for all the EHCP plans, leading a team of TA’s, supporting teaching staff, university graduates and working with outside agencies such as CAMHS, OT, EP’s and many more. In addition Angie was a lead CAF officer, and worked with the local authority on the EHCP and High Needs panels.
With all the experience Angie has she has created, along with her team, a safe, calm nurturing environment which allows students to flourish and overcome their own personal challenges. The idyllic Brickyard Barn setting embraces various kinds of outdoor learning and allows the students to explore the surrounding areas as part of their bespoke learning timetables. Angie feels privileged to be able to lead and create this special setting and to look forward to supporting ASD students to grow into successful ambassadors in our community.
